Magazine kiosk
2002
Caracas, Venezuela
This kiosk was designed for indoor installation in shopping malls, intended for selling newspapers, magazines, and retail products. The initiative was developed by Bigott as part of its BTL (Below The Line) marketing strategies, focusing on targeted advertising through non-mass channels, prioritizing experience and direct consumer interaction.
Having a fabrication workshop at Metaplug allowed us to develop prototypes and explore various solutions. Ultimately, we designed a large counterweighted door that spans the entire kiosk structure, balanced so that a single person could open it effortlessly. When closed, the door reveals a display case.
During operation, the design includes space for a small cash register and a rolling ladder to access the upper shelves, optimizing interaction and functionality at the point of sale.
